Training December 18, 2014


Today was a lot of fun!

Back Squat
Heavy single in 15:00
385 lbs.

Tied my PR.  Going into it, I was thinking 365, but each single felt better than the previous so, since I had time left on the clock, I kept going.  Went 315-345-365-385.

Power Snatch
4 x 2 Heavy Rest 1:00
163 lbs.

These felt pretty good, except the second rep on the second set got a little Sam Dancer-ish.  I am feeling more and more comfortable with power snatching.



Weighted Pull-Ups
4 x 1-2 Rest 2:00
70(2), 90(1), 100(1), 110(1)

Used a mixed grip for the last three sets.  I think 110 is a PR.

For Time

100m Farmer's Carry 115 lbs./hand
6 Laps Overhead Carry 165 lbs.
1 Lap = 10m

Tried to stay steady on the row.  I had a good 2:00 where I was literally stuck on 25 SPM with a 1:44 split time.  That was fantastic.

Farmer's carry went mostly great.  Walked out 50m without dropping, dropped, turned, took one deep breath and headed back.  I made about 45m before I dropped.  Weak sauce, but  a HUGE improvement over where I was 6 months ago.

Overhead carry was fun.  I had never done it before.  Most difficult part was cleaning the bar up after the farmer's carry.  Forearms looked like Popeye.
